Imagination,
made livable.
A room can make an impression and still invite you to put your feet up.
We design for both: the pleasure of a space that feels unmistakably yours, and the ease of living in it. Think layered color, comfortable places to land, and details that give people something to talk about.
Founded by Jason Darling and Rebecca Abdullah, Placeholder brings together hands-on remodeling experience and a shared love of homes with personality. Our work spans residences, vacation rentals, and salons, with a particular affection for places that bring people together.

Good questions.
Clear answers.
What can you help us with?
Residential interiors, vacation rentals, salons, and remodeling design. We can bring together color, furnishings, layouts, and finishing details, with contractor and landscaper coordination agreed as part of your scope.
How does the design process work?
We begin with your space, priorities, and inspiration. After agreeing on scope, we develop a design direction, refine it with you, and plan the next steps. Sourcing, coordination, and installation support depend on your project agreement.
Do we need to know our style before we start?
No. A few rooms you love, things you want to keep, or a description of how you want your home to feel is a useful beginning. Our work is expressive, but your personality and daily life guide the design.
What does the initial consultation cost?
Your initial consultation is free. It is a chance to discuss your project, priorities, budget, and whether we are a good fit. Any paid design work and its scope are agreed before it begins.
How is the project priced?
We provide a proposal based on the work involved. Design services, furnishings, and contractor work are different parts of a project budget; we will clarify what is included and what is separate before you commit.
